LLEIDA PUPPET FAIR AWARD 2007
Award for the best dramatic proposal for “EL REI DE CASA”
The Lleida Puppet Fair is a leading cultural event dedicated to the world of puppet theatre, held annually during the first week of May in the city of Lleida. Organized by the Lleida Puppet Centre and the City Council, the fair transforms the city into a large stage with performances in streets, squares, and theatres.
The 36th edition, held from May 1 to 4, 2025, featured 28 companies (10 from Catalonia, 8 from the rest of Spain, and 10 international) offering 30 performances across 20 different locations in the city. Four world premieres, eight premieres in Spain, and six in Catalonia were presented, with an expected attendance of over 45,000 spectators and the participation of more than 300 professionals from the industry.
In addition to the performances, the fair includes parallel activities such as the Puppet Craft Fair, workshops, exhibitions, and food areas. It also offers technical sessions and professional meetings, such as “speed meeting” sessions between artists and international programmers.
With over three decades of history, the Lleida Puppet Fair has become a key platform for the promotion and dissemination of puppet theatre, both nationally and internationally.
