Farrés Brothers and company will say goodbye to "La maleta de l'Agustí" and "Quanta, quanta guerra..." this December in Igualada

The Anoia-based company has announced the final opportunities to see two of its shows.
La maleta de l’Agustí will end its tour at the same venue where it premiered, Teatre de l’Aurora, with two performances on December 15. Meanwhile, Quanta, quanta guerra… will take its final bow on December 27 at Teatre Municipal l’Ateneu. Tickets are now on sale and include a discount for seeing both shows at a reduced price. With this, the company refreshes its repertoire and prepares to premiere a new production this December titled Dues ales, directed by Dora Cantero.

Historical memory for all audiences
La maleta de l’Agustí brings to light a fragment of the life of photojournalist Agustí Centelles (1909–1985). The story focuses on the discovery of a suitcase full of Civil War negatives and images from refugee camps that Centelles had hidden for over 30 years in a friend’s attic in Carcassonne, fearing the photos might reveal the identity of republicans. This discovery is the starting point for a tale that, with humour, emotion, and touches of historical memory, speaks of the value of friendship. The show was co-produced with Teatre de l’Aurora and now returns for its final performances on December 15 at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The successful adaptation of Mercè Rodoreda’s novel
Quanta, quanta guerra… was initiated by actor Biel Rossell from Igualada, with the intention of speaking about youth beyond clichés. To do this, he set out to adapt Mercè Rodoreda’s novel. The adaptation was co-written with Pep Farrés, who also directed and designed the set. Musician Biel Serena composed the music and performs it live alongside Rossell, who carries the performance almost as a monologue. The story follows the coming-of-age journey of Adrià Guinart, a young man who runs away from home to join the war. Along the way, he meets characters who teach him about the world, love, and sexuality, but also about responsibility, ambition, and evil. The production has had more than eighty performances for young and adult audiences, including two seasons at Teatre Tantarantana in Barcelona. It will conclude on December 27 at 8 p.m. at Teatre Municipal l’Ateneu.
